自春节开始，新型冠状病毒肺炎疫情的发展吸引了世界各国的关注，牵动了全球几十亿人的心。一方面，中国政府采取了全面而严格的防控举措，全国人民积极响应国家号召，安心居家抗疫。另一方面，世界各国也在努力支持全球范围内抗击疫情的斗争。包括英国、法国、韩国、日本、土耳其、巴基斯坦等国家都通过不同方式向中方表达了抗击疫情的理解和支持，并捐助了不少疫情防控物资。

针对此次疫情，英国提供了大力支持，一边陆续向中国捐赠各类医疗物资，一边拨款资助研发针对新型冠状病毒的疫苗。英国驻华大使吴百纳表示：“Covid-19 疫情的影响目前正在持续观察之中，但英国政府尚未针对来自中国的游客实施旅行限令或检疫要求，且目前也暂无此计划。”

同时，英国文化教育协会和英国大使馆对此次疫情给学生们带来的影响也非常关注，并决定在新型冠状病毒疫情期间针对相关情况进行实时更新。

以下是英国文化教育协会中国区主任、英国大使馆文化教育公使包迈岫写给各大留学服务机构老师和学校升学指导老师的一封信（中英文版），从信中我们可以看出英国教育界对尽最大努力减少目前和未来疫情对中国学生的影响的渴望，相信之后英国文化教育协会也将会继续及时更新通报英国政府做出的相关规定，以期帮助中国学生顺利完成赴英留学规划，实现自己的海外留学梦想。

Dear education agents andcounsellors,

Novel Coronavirus Update - StudyUK

The UK has a long history ofwelcoming Chinese students, who are an integral part of our academic community.We are committed to supporting them, together with education agents andcounsellors during this difficult time. At present, we are working closely withthe UK education sector to minimisethe disruption for current and futureChinese students.

We know that many students andparents may have contacted you during this time, and you may have questions onthe impact of this situation on those wanting to study in the UK. If this isthe case, we are available to answer all questions you may have. You can reachus via email atagent.china@britishcouncil.org.cn, alternatively via ourStudy UK WeChat group assistant "bcxiaozhushou3".

Many of you will be aware that sincelate January, IELTS examinations have been suspended following a directive fromthe Government. We plan to recommence as soon as permitted to do so by theauthorities in China, with increased capacity to meet the needs of test takerswho rely on the IELTS test for further study.

British Ambassador to China, DameBarbara Woodward DCMG OBE, said that “the British government has not imposedtravel restrictions or quarantine requirements on visitors from China andcurrently has no plans to do so, although the situation in the light ofcovid-19 is under constant review”.

We will continue to keep you updatedon any decisions made by the British Government that will have an impact on youand your students.
